Dear Parents and Guardians,
Throughout the month of October, students in grades K-9 will be taking the NWEA MAP Growth Assessment in ELA and Math. These assessments are critical for benchmarking student growth which allow the staff to adapt our educational program to meet individual student needs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we need this information more than ever.
Please review the information below and reach out to your building administrator with additional questions:
For students who are full time in person or hybrid, their teachers will share the schedule and times of their assessments. Students will take the assessment in the school on district laptops, which will be sanitized after each use. It will take several weeks to test all students in grades K-9.
Students who are fully remote will have the ability to take the assessment remotely by signing on to test.mapnwea.org. This site will direct students to the login page where they will input the information provided by their teachers. A schedule of dates and times will be shared shortly. For more information on the remote testing, including suggestions for testing and the technology requirement, please visit: Remote NWEA Testing
It is important to your child’s success that we have the most accurate data possible. If your child is fully remote it is important to set up a testing location that is conducive for testing. We ask that parents do not assist their child with the assessment. Note: NWEA is an adaptive assessment which gets progressively harder the more questions a student gets correct. This can be discouraging to some students. Providing positive feedback and support will help alleviate this stress.
As always thank you for your support.
