Mr. Sloane Says…
Dear Middleburgh Jr./Sr, High School Students, Faculty, Families and Community,
It is hard to imagine the 2018-2019 school year is coming to an end. Over the past eight months we have seen a transformation in the way we provide education to our students. As a school community we are looking at the whole child through a proactive social and emotional well-being initiative, engaging students in project-based experiences and providing students with agency to develop their own pathways to success. The staff has reinvested in the learning process and has shifted their methodologies to meet the new requirements and needs of their students. It has been a very busy year.
I feel very fortunate to lead this school and be welcomed into the Middleburgh community. We have several events to look forward to during the next few months culminating in our graduation exercise on June 27. Students should feel proud of the year they had and be excited for the future in front of them.
In the words of scientist Nicholas Schiraldi “While we might only be a biological construct of cells and electrical impulses, it is our ability to experience life and share those experiences with others that makes us human”. I wish all of our graduating seniors the very best. Know that no matter what path you take or where you end up, you will always have Middleburgh and the experiences you shared with your fellow classmates as the foundation of your future endeavors.
Matthew Sloane, Principal
