MCS honors 11 retirees at May 23rd Board of Education meeting

retirees pose for a picture after being honored at the May 23 BOE meetingAt its May 23rd Board of Education meeting, Middleburgh Central Schools honored 11 employees retiring from the district, all with more than a decade of dedicated service apiece.

Members of the student body were also on hand to help honor the teachers, bus drivers, and cleaners who retired from the district. All told, the 11 individuals who retired carry with them a combined 264 years of experience helping serve, teach, and care for our students.

Honored at the meeting were the following individuals:

  • Cheryl Mickel – Elementary Education Teacher – 40 years of dedicated service
  • Linda Reed – Elementary Education Teacher – 36 years of dedicated service
  • Elizabeth Meredith – Music Teacher – 30 years of dedicated service
  • Mary Bowman – Elementary Education Teacher – 25 years of dedicated service
  • Patricia Bowman – Teaching Assistant – 25 years of dedicated service

  • James Kelley Jr. – Cleaner – 11 years of dedicated service
  • Eileen Laspaluto – Reading Teacher – 11 years of dedicated service
