Students Share Support For Each Other in Thoughtful and Creative Ways

Miss Akin’s health class finished the year with an advocacy project. Students in tenth through twelfth grades chose a topic they were passionate about and then they chose a way to advocate through writing and sending a letter to Congress, creating artwork, or developing a brochure/website.

“The key to advocacy is sharing your ideas and spreading awareness,” said Miss Akin. “I wanted students to know that they have the power to change the issues that they see in the world, their community, or even within the school building. I’m very proud of them!”
