Students in Andrew Drescher’s fourth grade math class have an exciting way to boost their skills. Drescher introduced them to Gimkit, and the students can’t get enough of what often feels more like play than schoolwork.
“I’d play it every day,” said student Robert T.
“Gimkit is an engaging academic platform that helps students strengthen skills through interactive games,” Drescher said. “Classes can work together or compete against each other, making learning both fun and effective.”

While using the Gimkit platform students earn virtual credits by solving math problems. The game can be used to review content and eventually master it. Different game modes and scenarios keep the experience fresh, competitive and fun.
“There are multiple modes you can do. You can switch it from easier to harder math problems,” said Robert. “Mr. Drescher switches it up to what we are doing in class that week.”

In a recent class challenge, students raced to solve multiplication problems so they could build brick walls to build staircases to escape the rising lava.
Student Dylan E. is also a fan. He said, “It’s a cooperation game and you have to work together to make sure your building doesn’t fall into lava.” He continued, “You have to focus and answer division and multiplication questions.”
