For the second year in a row, Middleburgh CSD has been named a School of Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). The distinction is awarded to schools that had at least 75 percent of their varsity teams achieve Scholar-Athlete Team Awards during their 2024-25 sports seasons.
Dr. Robert Zayas, NYSPHSAA Executive Director said, “These accolades would not be possible without the dedication, hard work, and commitment of the student-athletes, coaches, and administrators.”
Middleburgh CSD Athletic Director Gregg Johns is proud of what the school community has accomplished. “We are so thrilled that MCS has been recognized as a NYSPHSAA School of Excellence for two consecutive years,” Johns said. “This is a testament of hard work and prioritizing academics and athletics.”
NYSPHSAA will present Johns with a commemorative plaque to display at the school.
