MCS Scholar-Athlete teams are being recognized by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) for maintaining exceptional marks in academics while participating in team sports during the winter 2024 season. The teams are:
Boys Basketball
Girls Basketball
Boys Bowling
Girls Bowling
NYSPHSAA team recognition denotes that the team’s average GPA for 75% or more of the roster is greater than or equal to 90%.
NYSPHSAA Executive Director Dr. Robert Zayas says, “It takes a strong effort and work ethic from a student-athlete to build a solid academic base and simultaneously a competitive spirit in their sport, and NYSPHSAA is proud to recognize those efforts.”
Athletic Director Gregg Johns says this kind of achievement takes a concentrated effort.
