Andrew graduated from Duanesburg Central School District in 2020 and then went on to study Childhood Education at St. Thomas Aquinas College, where he graduated from after three years.

“I’ve always enjoyed school,” Drescher said. “Whether it was being in class or just the environment of school. I looked up to teachers and knew from a young age that this was the career path I wanted to take. “

While attending St. Thomas Aquinas, Drescher student taught fifth and sixth grade in the Nyack Public School District.  He also was a member of the college’s Track & Field team.

He is excited to get involved and looks forward to joining a strong community like Middleburgh.

I am always open to trying new ways, sharing ideas, and reflecting on how things go,” Andrew said of his work. “I believe you can always learn something new, or come up with a new idea. So being observant is a helpful skill to acquire.

Question: What do you look forward to in your work at Middleburgh?

I hope to make a difference and impact as many people as I can. Whether inside the school or outside, I want to be involved and become a familiar face.

Question: What are your favorite hobbies?

My hobbies have always been sports-related. As I’ve grown up, I’ve shaped myself into someone who spent their free time playing/practicing baseball, basketball, soccer, and running. Now, I spend a lot of my time fishing or playing golf.

Question: Do you have a motto?

I wake up daily thinking “Today is a great day, to have a great day.”
Each day is a new opportunity to work hard and reach your goals. I believe having a mission to finish each day being better than I started will always allow me to grow.
