Middleburgh Central School District was named a 2025 Honoree in the School/School District category for the “What’s Great in Our State” awards, presented by the New York State Office of Mental Health (NYSOMH).

“This statewide recognition celebrates our district’s exemplary efforts to support the mental health and well-being of students and families,” said Superintendent Mark Place. “It reflects the dedication of our entire team to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where all students can thrive.”

Matthew Sloane, principal at the junior/senior high school added, “This is a testament to the work faculty and staff do each day in providing students with a high level of awareness of students’ needs and the commitment we make to the mental well-being of everyone in the district.”

Throughout the year, Middleburgh Central School District integrates additional mental health support education into its academic and extracurricular opportunities through partnerships with the Sweethearts and Heroes program and the Partnerships in Education and Resiliency Institute. This is in addition to multiple offerings available to Pre-K-12 students through the district’s counseling department

The “What’s Great in Our State” award is part of the NYSOMH initiative to spotlight innovative approaches that strengthen mental health wellness.
