Athletes Step Up, How MCS Rolls

Today, Middleburgh high school students were interviewed by a WNYT Channel 13 reporter for a story that will air next week.

MHS basketball players and other athletes became motivated to join the bowling team so their friend could have a season. There weren’t enough bowlers to fill a boys team, and it’s the senior bowling captain, Tyler Mann’s last chance to bowl for the high school.

“They’re all good friends and they stepped up to support each other,” said basketball coach, Gregg Johns. “Once the basketball players joined, a few others did and they now have more than enough for a team.  Obviously we’re still hopeful for a b-ball season, but this is a great show of support.”

Also in the spirit of camaraderie, the girls bowling team have been very encouraging to the boys who are starting a new endeavor. As soon as WNYT gives us an air date for the story, we will let you know so you can tune in.
