High School Staff Member Tests Positive for COVID-19

Dear MCS families,

Today, Monday, January 18, the district learned a staff member at the Jr. Sr. High School has tested positive for COVID-19. In direct consultation with the Schoharie Department of Health, it has been determined that three staff members and six students will be quarantined until Saturday, January 23.

Please note that for everyone else, the high school will remain open for in-person learning. Middleburgh Central School District continues to thoroughly clean and disinfect all buildings on campus, in accordance with requirements from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC.

It is important to understand that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any identifiable information about a person who has tested positive.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Brian Dunn
Superintendent of Schools
