Mask Wearing Optional Starting Wednesday, March 2

Dear MCS families,

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that the statewide mask requirement in schools will be lifted on Wednesday, March 2. This means that starting Wednesday, students, school staff, and visitors will no longer be required to wear face coverings or masks in any of our school buildings or on school buses. Mask wearing will be optional. It is important that we respect the decisions people make about wearing masks and continue to be cautious about close contact.

As always, we continue to work with our local county health officials as COVID-19 health and safety protocols evolve. If any additional changes to these protocols are made, we will communicate those to you.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and commitment to the health and safety of our students and staff. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

Brian Dunn
Superintendent of Schools
