Middleburgh CSD has been named a School of Excellence by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA). The distinction is awarded to schools that had at least 75 percent of their varsity teams achieve Scholar-Athlete Team Awards during their 2025-26 sports seasons.
Dr. Robert Zayas, NYSPHSAA Executive Director said, “These awards recognize entire school communities that value success in the classroom as much as success in competition.”
Middleburgh CSD’s philosophy of educating the whole child applies to athletics and sports as well as to academic life. When students participate in athletic endeavors, they build skills of commitment, sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork.
