Graduation Events and Information

Honors Banquet

Honors Banquet will be held May 26, from 6 to 7 p.m. Additional details will be provided to seniors and families.

Cap and Gown Pick Up/Class Photo

Seniors will pick up their caps and gowns on May 27, 2027, in the library at 8 a.m.  The cap and gown class photo will be taken on the front steps at 8:15 a.m.

Class Day/Elementary Walk-through

On June 14, wearing their caps and gowns, seniors will meet and walk through the high school and then head to the elementary school to meet in the elementary gym. They will walk through the school to share this special occasion with the elementary school faculty, staff and students. The seniors will then return to the high school to assist with Class Day.

Senior Awards and Recognition Night 

Senior Award Night will be held June 23, at 6 p.m.  

Baccalaureate Service

Baccalaureate will be held June 14. All participating seniors should meet on the high school steps, wearing caps and gowns, by 6:45 p.m. for the 7 p.m. service.  The baccalaureate location will be announced closer to the date.

Senior Breakfast

The Senior Breakfast will be held on June 25 in the cafeteria at 8:30 a.m.

Graduation Rehearsal

Graduation rehearsal will begin at 10:30 a.m.on June 24 in the auditorium and will continue until noon. At this time, seniors will receive graduation tickets, tassels and honor cords.

Attendance at graduation rehearsal is mandatory.

Graduation

Graduation will be held on June 25.

Students should meet at 6:15 p.m. in the high school library with their cap and gowns on. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.. There will be a reception immediately following. 

Each senior will receive four tickets.

Laptop Returns

Students must turn in their laptops and chargers. Items will be collected in the lower level of the library. Any student taking a Regents exam can turn in their device after their test, at any point during Regents week.  Seniors will not receive their diploma until their device is returned.

Top 5

Each year, MCS celebrates the Top 5 academic performers, naming a valedictorian, salutatorian, honor graduate and the students with the fourth and fifth highest academic averages.  

An annoucement of the Top 5 is generally made in February.
 


School and community events 

      • The MCS Class of 2027 Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser will be held Nov. 7, beginning at 8 a.m. Class volunteers and food concession donations are needed.
      • Prom will be held on June 6, 2027
      • The MCS Festival of Arts and Technology will be held on June 11.

Senior Trip

Members of the Class of 2027 will go on a two-night trip June 3-5. Details will be provided to seniors.


Senior Swag

Senior class clothing will be available for purchase. Details will be announced.


Senior Portraits

It’s essential that all seniors book a photography session, since these photos will be used in the yearbook and for senior lawn signs. 

If you haven’t had your senior portrait taken yet, Nov. 13 the final opportunity to have it taken at school. After that, students will have to travel to the Upstate Images studio in Albany. 

Photo Details

Yearbook photos must be a formal head and shoulder shot against the traditional blue background. A tuxedo or drape, and a cap and gown, will be provided for photos. The photographer will take these photos free of charge during the session.

Parents and guardians have the option of paying for expanded sessions that include extra background and wardrobe choices. These sessions can be booked online at Upstate Images.

Important: How to Schedule 

You must call Upstate Images to book your appointment and have the basic senior portrait session fee manually waived.

      1. Call Upstate Images Customer Service at 1-855-773-3321.
      2. Tell the representative you are booking a free senior portrait session for Nov. 13.
      3. Be prepared to provide the time slot you would like to reserve and an email address for the appointment confirmation and photo proofs.

After Your Session

After your photos are taken, you will need to view your online gallery and select your final yearbook image for the senior section. You will also have the option to order photo packages, graduation announcements, and more, if you desire.


Scholarship and College Information

Seniors, be sure to periodically check the bulletin board outside the main office for announcements on SAT test dates, scholarships, and college representative visits to our school.

SAT TESTING INFORMATION

Cost: $68.00/additional $38 for late registration

ACT TESTING INFORMATION

To register for the ACT, go to act.org
Cost: $70.00/$95.00 full ACT with writing/additional $42 for late registration

Scholarship and College Information

All senior class members will recieve an invitation to join the “Senior Scholarships 2027” Google Classroom.  Students should accept the invitation. Complete information regarding all scholarships and awards will be posted in the Google Classroom only, if you are not a part of it you will miss important information.

MCS Juniors and Seniors have a number of upcoming opportunities to connect with college representatives at our Counseling Center. These meetings are useful for gathering information, asking questions, and getting a firsthand feel for potential future institutions. Students must make an appointment with the Counseling Center to be included in the sessions.
