Middleburgh Central School District celebrated 2022-23 junior and varsity athletes, teams, and coaches on June 8 during Sports Awards Night at the auditorium.
Co-Athletic Director Gregg Johns says it was a very successful year for student-scholars.
“We had 149 varsity athletes for all sports,” Johns said. “120 were WAC Academic All-Stars with an 85+ GPA during their season. 86 were NYSPHSAA Scholar Athletes with a 90+ GPA during their season. We had 7 NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete teams.”
Other highlights include junior Austin Johns breaking the Boys Soccer scoring record. He currently has 112 career goals entering his senior year. MCS Girls Bowling was the Section 2, Class C runner-up.
“We are very proud of all of our student-athletes and their accomplishments, ” Johns said. “We wish our graduating seniors well in their future endeavors.”
