5th graders speak with author Kim Ventrella

Kim Ventrella speaks to elementary students via skypeMs. Williams and Mrs. Monczewski collaborated to bring 5th grade students at Middleburgh Elementary the opportunity to Skype with author Kim Ventrella in the library on Tuesday, May 14th.

Ms. Ventrella talked about her story inspirations, interesting jobs she has had, places she has been and why she loves being an author.  She even introduced students to her dog, Hera, who is her best friend, “co-author” and the inspiration for one of her characters in Bone Hollow.  Students were able to ask her many questions about her books, Skeleton Tree and Bone Hollow, which they have been reading in Mrs. Monczewski’s ELA class.

Ms. Ventrella was impressed with the caliber of questions the students were asking her and said that it was one of the best Skype visits she has ever had!
