The Middleburgh Central School District has appointed Dr. Nicholas P. Comproski as the new elementary school principal, effective July 1, at the start of the 2026-27 school year.
Superintendent Mark Place said the district is excited to welcome Dr. Comproski and is confident he will be a strong addition to the MCS community.
“He stands out not only for his knowledge of teaching and learning, but also for the way he connects with people,” said Place. “It was clear to our interviewing team that he brings a thoughtful, student-centered approach and a strong commitment to supporting every student. He also excels at building meaningful partnerships with staff and families.”
Comproski noted that he was attracted to Middleburgh because it will be a great place to build those partnerships.
“In a community like Middleburgh, it’s possible to really get to know each student and their families, and to be part of their educational journey in a meaningful way,” Comproski said. “Middleburgh stood out to me because of how much the community truly cares. I was struck by the passion of its alumni and the strong sense of tradition and history that defines the school.”
He also said he is excited to become an MCS Knight.
Dr. Comproski holds a Master of Science in Education from The College of Saint Rose and Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Russell Sage College, along with additional degrees and certificates.
He began his career in education in 2012 and taught social studies prior to taking on administrative leadership roles in 2022, most recently at the Fort Edward Union Free School District. Dr. Comproski also has a strong background in Special Education and served as an adjunct professor in the teacher preparation program from 2020 to 2024 at the College of Saint Rose.
Dr. Comproski serves as a lieutenant and emergency medical technician with the Maplewood Volunteer Fire Department and is a member of the North Colonie Central School District Board of Education.
