How To Be Ready for The Scho-Burgh Cup Ahead of Tuesday’s Games

From Spirit Week themes, to game times, in-person spectator limits, and virtual watching opportunities, the Knights want you to be prepared to watch history in the making

The annual Scho-Burgh Games are next week. This Schoharie and Middleburgh basketball tradition started back in 2002, to commemorate the long storied rivalry between the neighboring towns and communities. The games became so well attended that in 2013, they were moved to SUNY Cobleskill with more than 1000 fans showing up to watch. Due to COVID, MCS is hosting this year and seating is limited. We hope to move back to SUNY Cobleskill in the future, but for now, we are excited to continue the historic Scho-Burgh Games.

Scho-Burgh Schedule: Tuesday, February 1
4:30
Boys JV
6:00 Girls Varsity
7:30 Boys Varsity

TAKING PRECAUTIONS DUE TO COVID, HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW

It’s very important to understand, we do not have room for spectators that walk in. All in-person spectators must be on a player’s list, or the student spectator list. For those not listed, you will have the opportunity to watch virtually by subscribing to the live stream service MCS uses.

Spectator Policy

  • Varsity student-athletes are allotted 3 spectators per student-athlete, give your spectator’s names to your coach. (Middleburgh and Schoharie are allowed the same number of spectators for girls basketball, boys basketball, and cheer.)
  • JV student-athletes and musical performers are allocated 2 spectators per student. (Middleburgh and Schoharie are allowed the same number of spectators for this.)
  • MCS Students – if students want to attend they need to sign up using this form.  (Students need to be signed in with their school google account to sign up.) Due to the limited number of seats in the gym, a live stream of the game will be broadcast in the school for additional student spectators.
