Important updates: School closure extended to April 29; June Regents exams canceled

Middleburgh logoDuring the during his April 6 COVID-19 media briefing, Gov. Cuomo announced he will extend the school closure mandate until April 29. Consistent with prior executive orders, if this closure is not extended, schools would reopen on April 29.

Additionally, during the New York State Board of Regents meeting today, April 6, Chancellor Betty Rosa announced the June Regents exams will be canceled. Further guidance is expected tomorrow, April 7.

At the meeting, Ms. Rosa said additional guidance will “focus on what is in the best interest of our students for the rest of this year.”
