It’s been since the fall of 2019 that MCS has had a game in a traditional, regular season due to the pandemic. Athletic Director and Soccer Coach Gregg Johns reflected on this before today’s tournament. “It’s been two years and it’s great to see student athletes out here, and to see parents on the sidelines, and it’s just great to have a normal feel to the sporting event for the first time in a long time. So we are very thankful to do this and regardless of the results we are thrilled to be hosting and thrilled to have a beautiful facility and excited to get this season going,” Coach Johns said.

In today’s game against Heatly, Austin Johns had three goals, Nate Wood and Kaurice Bell each had two goals, Nick Wood and DJ Vance each had one goal. It was Ben Croote and Ian Hoop combined for the shutout in the goal.

Tomorrow the tournament continues with the Knights taking on BKW/Duanesburg. The girls championship and consolation is at 10AM and the boys play at noon.
