“This is my first year of teaching, so I’m very excited to dive into my career at MCS! I feel very lucky to be here and can’t wait to meet my students,” said Mackenzie Akin.
Ms. Akin will be the new Health and PE teacher for students in grades 7-12. She graduated from Russell Sage College and loves to read. Her favorite books are the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. “My favorite movies would probably be Brother Bear and The Notebook,” she said. Ms. Akin’s motto is, “people who wonder whether the glass is half empty or half full miss the point. The glass is refillable.”
“We would like to welcome Ms. Akin into the district,” said Principal Sloane. “Ms. Akin has a positive energy and is excited to work with all of our students. Ms. Akins comes with a lot of experience both on and off the sports fields.”
