November 16 Vaccination Clinic for Ages Five and Up

Dear MCS Families,

The Middleburgh Central School District is working with the Schoharie County Health Department to provide a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic for our school-aged children and community. The clinic will be Tuesday, November 16 from 4:00-6:30 PM at the Middleburgh Elementary School. Enter through the main entrance on the driveway “loop.”

Earlier this month, the CDC recommended that children ages 5-11 receive the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric COVID-19 vaccine. The first dose of Pfizer’s pediatric COVID-19 vaccine will be available at this clinic as will other vaccines for the older population.

It is required that parents or guardians accompany their child under the age of 18 during the whole process — from sign-in, to being vaccinated, and for the 15-minute wait time after the vaccination. The adult accompanying the child will be asked to show identification.

After the first vaccination dose, parents will receive an email with a scheduled time for their child to get their second dose. The appointment for the second dose will be three weeks later, on Tuesday, December 7, at the same time and place.

LINKS TO SIGN UP:

The health department is also accepting walk-ins at this clinic for the regular Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for those 12 and older, and the Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines for those 18 and older. This is for initial vaccinations, second dose vaccinations, and boosters. Please bring identification and your vaccination card with you.

The CDC developed information to help answer your questions about the COVID-19 vaccines. Please use this link to access the information.

Sincerely,

Brian Dunn
Superintendent of Schools
