Middleburgh 2020 Prom families and school community:

As you already know, Gov. Cuomo has closed school for the remainder of this school year.  This means 2020 Prom, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 16, has to be postponed to a later date.

More details will be coming when we get further information on the restart of state’s economy, including the federal, state and local social distancing guidelines that may/will be in place.

The prom’s new date will be sometime after we return to the school in the fall.  Unfortunately, the venue will need to be a different one as The Tree Farm doesn’t have any open weekends through January 2021. It anticipates many rescheduled weddings and events after that date.

The Prom Committee has met a number of times and is already making plans for the rescheduled event.  It has also discussed doing some activities on the original prom date.  The committee is currently working on is reaching out to area restaurants to offer a “Prom Special” on May 16.  More details will follow from the committee.

Please know Middleburgh will not be sponsoring any activities on the original prom date.  If you are considering any plans for this night, we are reminding you of the critical importance of following all social distancing mandates. This also includes responsible internet usage as well.

We appreciate your continued understanding, flexibility and patience. We look forward to organizing a memorable event once this is possible.

Thank you for your attention to this information.
