The purpose of this page is to provide a place where community partners can share announcements about opportunities for MCS students or families which are not directly sponsored by the school district.  Community partners can send their information to news@mcsdny.org .  Once received, the information will be reviewed by the superintendent prior to being posted.

Page 1 – Pool Activities and Weekly Schedule
Programs are primarily free, with possible costs only for bus trips and camp registrations. The district provides access to school buildings, grounds, and buses. 
Village Pool Information:
Pool opens June 20, 2026 for open swim. 
Regular open swim hours: 1 to 6 p.m., daily. 
Family Swim: Sundays from 6 to 7:30 p.m., beginning June 28, 2026; limited to families only. 
Extended swim: Tuesdays open until 7:30 p.m., starting June 30, 2026. 
Adult swim: Wednesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m., beginning July 1, 2026, for ages 18 and older. 
Staff and Instruction:
Lifeguards and instructors include John Shaw, Gabby Armlin, Troy Cammer, Payton Yung, Marley Morgan, and Aleah Becker. 
Swim lesson instructors: Gabby Armlin and Payton Yung; sign-up available at the pool after registration period closes. 
Swim Team:
Practices held Mondays and Thursdays, 6 to 7 p.m., starting June 22 and June 25, 2026. 
Swim meets scheduled:
July 18, 2026 at Mine Kill
July 25, 2026 in Schoharie 
Transportation provided by bus. End-of-season pool party planned.

Activities:
Arts and Crafts: Held in the high school gym lobby at Middleburgh Central School; counselors Kaelyn Wainwright and Brianna Devlin. 
Open Gym (outdoor this year): Due to renovations, activities take place on fields instead of indoors. Includes games such as kickball, basketball, soccer, and dodgeball. Counselors Ciara Armlin and John Shaw. Participants should wear sneakers. 

Tennis Lessons:
Held on Middleburgh Central School tennis courts
Instructor: Mr. France with counselors
Dates: Monday, June 29 through Friday, July 17, 2026, excluding July 3 
Daily schedule:
Beginners (Grade 4 and under): 8:30–9:30 a.m.
Intermediate (Grade 5 and up): 9:30–10:30 a.m.
Competitive: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

Summer Band Concerts:
Held on four consecutive Fridays:
July 10, July 17, July 24, and July 31, 2026
Start time: 8 p.m.
Location: Middleburgh Central School lawn
Open to both student and adult musicians 
Rehearsals:
Thursdays before each concert at 6:30 p.m.
Dates: July 9, July 16, July 23, and July 30, 2026
Location: high school music room 
Additional details:
Ice cream social available at each concert
Attendees should bring chairs or blankets
Concerts will be canceled in case of bad weather due to building renovations

Middleburgh Joint Recreation Commission 2026 Village Pool Activities.
Swim lesson registration will take place at the Village Hall (Municipal Building next to Stewart’s on Main Street) on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to noon and Tuesday, June 9 from 5 to 7 p.m.
There are three swim lesson sessions: Session I runs June 29 to July 10; Session II runs July 13 to July 24; Session III runs July 27 to Aug. 7.
Daily lesson levels and approximate times are listed as follows: Level 6 is offered as one combined class covering diving, personal water safety and fitness swimming. Levels 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 are scheduled in staggered morning time slots between about 8:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m., with multiple sections for some levels depending on demand. Level 1 classes run one week long and are offered twice per session. Class schedules may change based on enrollment.
Swim lessons are open to children ages 4 and older.
A summer swim team is also offered. Practices are Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m., beginning June 22 and June 25. Swim meets are scheduled for July 18 in Mine Kill and July 25 in Schoharie, followed by a pool party.
The Village Pool opens Saturday, June 20 at 1 p.m. Open swim is held daily from 1 to 6 p.m. Beginning June 28, Sunday family swim runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays beginning June 30 include extended swim hours until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7:30 p.m., starting July 1, are designated for adult swim for ages 18 and older only.
A Silver Sneakers aquatic exercise class may be offered starting at the end of July, with details to be announced.
The pool closes on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 8, 2026.
